Five owner backlog items landed as round M.

Turn-end fast lane (near-instant steer delivery): queued steers deliver ~3–5 s after the current turn ENDS instead of ~45 s after idle. A terminal turn_usage row appears exactly at turn completion (PROTOCOL.md forensics), so the watcher polls that row, claims the observatory's own queue entry, and spawns the same dispatcher resume the sweeper would — every precheck intact (cwd lock, running-turn row, -32010, one-driver). A raced fresh turn exits 3 and self-queues exactly as today; the sweeper stays the backstop; bells keep their 30 s grace and never ride the lane. Deliveries are recorded in the sweeper's own history (same records, same dedupe). The spawn shortens only its own busy grace (ZDO_RUNNING_GRACE_MS per-process env, 2 s). ZDO_FASTLANE=0 disables; wording in the UI follows the server truth.

Dismiss/edit on message chips: dismissing a pending or failed optimistic-echo message recalls its exact words into the prompt textarea (a non-empty different draft asks before being replaced; cancel keeps chip and draft) — editable, re-sendable, never retyped.

Steer-starvation wording: rows and the steer dialog say "waiting for the current turn to end" with the fast-lane WHEN, instead of the old idle-wait promise.

Presumed dead: a red row hint when a turn shows in flight, the transcript went quiet >5 min, and no dispatcher holds the cwd — the silent-stall signature from the L1 crash. A hint, never a verdict (long quiet tool phases look the same).

ESC contract (bug fix): Esc on any panel does exactly one thing — minimize (favorites back to the dock, non-favorites close as configured). The close path consults a server-truth favorites mirror so a refresh race cannot misroute a favorite; unfavoriting happens only via the explicit star / dock-✕ toggles.

Validation (fixture DB + fake dispatcher + headless-Chrome CDP probes): 33/33 green — delivery latency 2.57 s after the simulated turn end, exit-3 race defers and delivers at the NEXT boundary, no firing without a newer terminal row, bell entry untouched, presumed-dead renders, ESC regression (favorite still favorited + docked + minimized, state file unchanged), dismiss/edit recall on pending and failed chips incl. collision confirm/cancel. Super-Linter lane green (pylint 10.00/10, ruff, markdown).

All checks were successful
Checks / Functional checks (pull_request) Successful in 14s
c2f919b8b7
- Fast lane: queued observatory steers deliver ~3-5 s after the turn
ENDS instead of ~45 s after idle. A watcher polls the terminal
turn_usage row (written exactly at completion), claims the queue
entry, and spawns the same dispatcher resume the sweeper would — all
prechecks intact; a raced fresh turn exits 3 and self-queues as
before (queue semantics stay the safety net); the sweeper remains the
backstop; bells never ride the lane. Delivery is recorded in the
sweeper's own history (same records, same dedupe). Spawn grace
shortened to 2 s via per-process env (queue delivery IS the next
  sequential turn). ZDO_FASTLANE=0 disables.
- Dismiss/edit on message chips: dismissing a pending or failed
optimistic-echo message recalls its text into the prompt textarea
(draft collision asks first) — words are editable and re-sendable,
  never retyped.
- Queue hints tell the turn-boundary story: 'waiting for the current
turn to end', fast-lane-aware wording on rows and the steer dialog.
- Presumed dead: rows carry a red hint when a turn shows in flight,
the transcript went quiet >5 min and no dispatcher holds the cwd —
the silent-stall (crash) signature from the L1 incident.
- ESC contract: Esc on any panel does exactly one thing — minimize
(favorites back to the dock, others close). The close path consults
a server-truth favorites mirror so a refresh race cannot misroute a
favorite; unfavoriting is the star / dock-x toggles alone.
