Brain-B post-ship check: the v1.57.0 merge (0d36b2f, PR #85) shipped the tilde fix + TT-V3 but SERVER_VERSION was never bumped (still v1.56.0 under the v1.57.0 tag) — the live station ran new code mislabeled as the old version.

This micro patch (v1.57.1, monotonic above the skewed tag — never reused):

The bump: SERVER_VERSION v1.56.0 → v1.57.1; the two suite version pins (test_header_collapse, test_markdown_render) aligned. Grep: zero stale quoted v1.56.0/v1.57.0 current-version pins; prose history mentions stay.
The guard (cannot recur): tests/test_version_guard.py + make check-version tie the constant to git truth — equal to a v* tag that HEAD sits exactly on; never below the highest v* tag (below = the v1.57.0 skew class; above = the normal pending-release window); skips with a NOTE in tag-less checkouts (CI depth-1 clones carry no tags).
Rig-proven four states: no tags → skip NOTE; HEAD at matching tag → pass; skew (v1.57.2 tag above a v1.57.1 constant, and the literal mislabeled-tag shape) → FAIL with a skew message; ahead → pass with pending note.
README release recipe + ROADMAP maintenance lane document the guard.

Suite: 759 tests OK (1 pre-existing environment skip). Super-Linter station recipe (slim v8.7.0, 6 lanes) green.
